Answer:

i. The number of students like basketball = 30

ii. The number of students are interested in Badminton than in Cricket  = 10

iii. The ratio of the students who like Tennis to that who like Basketball. = \frac{4}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total number of students of Class VIII = 180

From the pie- chart,

(i) To find,

The number of students like basket ball

From the pie- chart,

The fraction of students like basket ball = \frac{60}{360} = \frac{1}{6}

Since the total number of students is 180, the number of students like basketball = \frac{1}{6}×180 = 30

The number of students like basketball = 30

(ii)To find,

The number of students are interested in Badminton than in Cricket

From the pie-chart

The fraction of students like Badminton= \frac{120}{360} = \frac{1}{3}

The fraction of students like Cricket = \frac{100}{360} = \frac{5}{18}

Since the total number of students is 180,

The number of students who like badminton = \frac{1}{3}×180 = 60

The number of students like Cricket = \frac{5}{18}×180 = 50

∴The number of students are interested in Badminton than in Cricket = 60 -50 = 10

(iii) To find,

The ratio of the students who like Tennis to that who like Basketball.

From the pie-chart

The fraction of students like Tennis = \frac{80}{360} = \frac{2}{9}

The number of students like Tennis = \frac{2}{9}×180 = 40

The number of student who like basketball = 30

The ratio of the students who like Tennis to that who like Basketball. = \frac{40}{30} = \frac{4}{3}
