Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana :

• It is basically a scheme by Government of India in which affordable housing will be provided to the urban poor with a target of building about 20,000,000 (20 million) houses for people by 31 March 2020.

• PMAY has two components i.e.,

=> PAMY-U or Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban for the urban poor.
=> PAMY-G and PAMY-R or Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Rural for the rural poor.

• This scheme is converged with other schemes to ensure houses have a toilet, Ujjwala Yojana LPG gas connection, access to drinking water, etc.
