Answer:

Has ordered.

Explanation:

In the wake of a sharp rise in temperatures in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Directorate of Education has asked all government, private and civic-run schools to declare compulsory summer vacation from May 11.

The capital had experienced its hottest day Monday, with temperatures soaring to 44 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung, a five degree departure from normal temperature, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung Monday was 23.8 degrees Celsius, a one degree departure from normal temperature. At Palam, the maximum temperature recorded Monday was 46.2 degrees Celsius, a 7 degrees Celsius departure from normal. The minimum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius.

Experts said while the mercury is expected to rise in May, temperatures this high are usually experienced in the latter half of the month. Meanwhile, the Gautam Budh Nagar district administration in Uttar Pradesh has also asked schools to alter timings.

“Taking into consideration the heat wave in the past few days, all government and government-aided primary and higher primary schools in Gautam Budh Nagar have been asked to change school timings with immediate effect. The school timing will now be between 7 am to 12 pm,” said N P Singh, district magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar.

However, schools in Gurgaon will remain open and function as usual. “If the situation worsens, then we may take action.,” said the district public relations officer in Gurgaon.
