the gradient of the line joining points ( 7 , k ) and ( k , 3 ) is 4 upon 5 . calculate k .

Using this relation we have,

 \frac{3 - k}{k - 7}  =  \frac{4}{5} \\  \\ 15 - 5k = 4k - 28 \\ 9k = 33 \\ k =  \frac{11}{3}

slope = y2-y1/x2 - x1

4/5 = 3-k/k-7

k = 11/3
