Nissl Granules are present in the neurons and dendrites.

  • Nissl granules are present only in the cytoplasm of the neurons. These granules belong to the rough endoplasmic reticulum and therefore appear rough in nature.
  • Like any other cell in the body, these granules are part of the ER and have the ability to synthesize proteins that are required for the function of the cell.
  • These granules are present in neurons and dendrites but absent in axon and axon hillock.
