Answer:

India will soon become the world’s most populous country as India’s population is predicted to surpass that of China within the next decade.

India’s population is expected to continue to grow until mid-century, reaching an estimated 1.68 billion in the 2050s as the chart below shows. But an important piece of evidence tells us that population growth will come to an end: The number of children in India peaked more than a decade ago and is now falling.

Answer:

                                        Declining Gender Ratio

The given data depicts the information about the decline in the number of females in the country.

As per the Civil Registertion Data, the number of girl borns per 1000 boys has been declining since 1991. The number of girl borns in 1991 has been 867 per 1000 boys, while in 2006 it has taken the edge off to 831.

There are fluctuations in the numbers between the years 1991 and 2006. In 2001, the number has reduced drastically to 809 while in the consequent years it has raised to 831, 823 per 1000 boys. However, the number has remained constant over the years.

The graph given is evident that there is a decline in male-female sex ratio over the years. This can be due to sex-selective abortion, malnutrition etc. The male-female sex ratio must be maintained for a healthy society
