The graph of a liner equation in x and y passes through (4,0) and (0,3) .find the value of k if the graph passes through (k, 1.5)

[since they are the same line].

So

( 0 - 3 ) / ( 4 - 0 ) = ( 1.5 - 3 ) / ( k - 0 )

=> - 3 / 4 = - 1.5 / k

=> - 3 k = - 1.5 × 4

=> 3 k = 1.5 × 4 = 6

=> k = 2
