Given

a line x + 3y = 2.

To find

the point where the line cuts the y axis .

Concept

At any point on the y axis, x co-ordinate is 0. Further, (0.y ) will be satisfied by the equation.

Calculations

Let the point be (0 , m). It will satisfy the equation x + 3y = 2

=> x + 3y = 2

putting x = 0 and y = m

=> 3m = 2

=> m = 2/3.

Hence, the graph cuts the y axis at (0, 2/3).

(None of the option is correct )

Answer:

(0,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

x+3y = 2

y = (2-x)/2

If x=0, then;

y=(2-0)/2 = 2/2 = 1

Hence, x+3y=2 cuts y-axis at (0,1).
