Given : The graph of the x-coordinate of a particle going along the x-axis as a function of time

To find : average velocity during 0 to 25 s

Solution

initial position of particle at t = 0  is   0 m

Final Position of Particle at t = 25  is  0 m

Average Velocity  = ( Change in Position) / Time

= ( 0 - 0)/(25 - 0)

=  0/0

=  0  m/s

if Graph Show the velocity then to find Distance Covered we need to find

area under Graph

=  (1/2) * 10 * 100  +  (1/2) * 5(100 + 50) + 50*5  +  (1/2)*5*50

= 500 + 375 + 250 + 125

= 1250 m

Average Velocity = 1250/25  = 50 m/s
