If Frank walks from his house to Derek's house, then on to Evan's house along the path shown, how far will he

Solution:

Frank position ( 5 , - 4 )

Derek position (- 3 , 4)

Evan Position  ( - 3 , - 4)

Frank walks from his house to Derek's house, then on to Evan's house along the path shown

Distance between Frank and Derek house

= √(5 - (-3))²  + (-4 - 4)²

= 8√2

Distance between Derek and Evan  house

=  √(-3 - (-3))²  + (-4 - 4)²

= 8

Total Distance covered = 8√2   + 8

= 19.31

19.31 unit Distance Frank walked
