Answer:

mass=1000kg , u=5m/s ,v=0m/s,t=4seconds . So, acceleration,a=v-u/t=0m/s-5m/s /4s =>-5m/s /4s=-1.25m/s^2 ,=> retarding force (negative acceleration)=F=(m×a)=>F=1000×(-1.25m/s^2)=-1250N
