The gravitational force between objects is 100N. how should distance between these objects changed so that force between becomes 50 N.​

To Find : distance between objects

  1. f= 100, distance=r equation 1
  2. f'=50, distance=r'. equation 2
  3. from inverse square law we know that force is inversely proportional to distance square . i.e 1/

therefore comparing eq1 &eq2

f/f'=/r'²

  • r'²=100/50×r²
  • r'=2r
  • therefore new distance would be increased by√2 times
