Answer:

The gravitational force between two objects is inversely proportional to the square of distance between them. So, if the distance between two objects is doubled, then the gravitational force becomes 2×21. That is, 1/4. Therefore, if the distance between two masses be doubled, then the force between will becomes 1/4.

Answer:

new gravitational force ,    F_g' = 0.25 N

Explanation:

given:

F_g = 1 N

let the new force be F_g'

we know that    F_g  \alpha   \frac{1}{d^2}

where  d = distance between the two objects.

now   d' = 2d

so,

\frac{F_g'}{F_g} = \frac{d^2}{{d'}^2}

\frac{F_g'}{F_g} = \frac{d^2}{4{d}^2}

{F_g'} = \frac{F_g}{4}

then new gravitational force =>   F_g' = (1/4) N  = 0.25 N
