The gravitational force exerted by the sun on the moon is about twice as great as the gravitational force exerted by the earth on the moon, but still moon is not escaping from gravitational influence of the earth. Mark the option which correctly explains the above system

Hi. I

It is because moon is much closer to earth than sun this means gravitational acceleration of earth towards sun is almost same as is the gravitational acceleration of moon towards sun. And moon also moves in a concave path to the sun

Hope it helps
