The gravitational potential energy stored in a box of weight 200 kgf is 20000 J. Find the height at which the box is placed. ( Take 1 Kgf = 10N)

Hello Mate!

Since we know that potential energy = mgh

And Force = mg

Since 1 kgf = 10 N

200 kgf = 200 × 10 N

= 2000 N

Now, substituting values we get

20000 J = 2000 N × s

10 m = s

Hence box is placed 10 m above.

here, w= 20000 j.
now, s=?
potential energy = mgh
therefore 20000= mgh
where f= ma
m=f÷a
m= 2000÷9.8
=204 kg.
therefore 20000= 204x 9.8xh
1999.2h= 20000
h= 20000÷1999.2
10m is the height.
