ife during the Depression was hard for many American citizens during the 1930’s, however many people were affected in different ways depending on where they lived in America. People that lived on the rural side of the country in states like Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico dealt with different kinds of struggles like crops that wouldn't grow, the Dust Bowl that took place during the 1930's, crops that wouldn't sell, and advanced farm equipment that left many out of the job. However, life in the urban areas faced struggles like very high unemployment rates, lack of places to live, scarcity of food, and higher crime rates. Since many people did not have money to afford their homes, they sought out to live in "Hoovervilles" which were make shift shacks placed on the outskirts of the cities.
