Archimedes was the scientist who proved that if an object is submerged in water it will experience an upward (upthrust) force which is equal to the weight of water displaced by the body.It is bcz of this principle that ship floats on water and needle sinks and it is also bcz of this principle that fish weighs less in water.This principle is known as "ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE"
