When ferrous sulphate FeSO4. 7H20 is heated it get decomposed in to ferric oxide (Fe2O3) and sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide.

Actually, the green colour of ferrous sulphate is due to the presence of water of crystallization when it is heated the water molecules attached is lost and the ferrous sulphate give a brown pale colour after further heating it get decomposed as per reaction :-

FeSO4.7H2O + FeSO4 + 7 H20

FeSO4 + Fe2O3 + SO2 + SO3.
