Here we use exponential growth equation as exponential growth is preferred in any growth
y = a(1+r) ^ x
Here,
y = Total population
a= initial amount
r = growth rate( often percent)
x = number of time intervals that have passed( in hours)
Here, a= 20,000
r= 4/100 = 0.04
x = 11 am to 1pm = 2 hr
To find is y
y = 20,000 ( 1+0.04) ²
y = 20,000 ( 1.04)²
y = 20,000 × 1.0816
y = 21,632
So, total amount of bacteria at 1 pm is 21,632
