Solution,

Let us assume the cost price = A

We can say that GST = 12% of cost price  = 12% of A

So, GST = 12/100 *A

or, 12A/100  = Rs 1170 (GST given)

or, A = Rs 1170 * 100/12

or A = 117000/12

Now, selling price = cost price + GST

So, selling price = 117000/12 + 1170

selling price = (117000+1170*12)/12 = (117000+14040)/12

Selling price = 10920

Hence, the actual selling price is Rs. 10920
