The handles of the tools like screwdrivers and pliers used by electricians for repair work usually have plastic or rubber covers on them. Can you explain why?

Dear Student,

◆ Handles of the tools used by electricians usually have plastic/rubber covers on them because -

  • If handles of electric tools don't have any cover, electricity can transfer from tools to the body and electrician and can give him shock.
  • Therefore, handles of the tools used by electricians usually have insulator (plastic/rubber) covers on them so as to stop electricity from getting conducted into electrician's body.

Thanks dear...
