The hanging bob of a simple pendulum is displaced to one extreme position B and then released. It swings towards centre position A and then to the other extreme position C. In which position does the bob have (a) maximum potential energy (b) maximum kinetic energy. Give reasons for your answer

it have maximum potential energy at the points B and C. and it will have maximum kinetic energy when it will passing through A.
because potential energy can be defined as the energy which works at height.and energy in motion is kinetic energy.

at extreme  positions bob will have max potential energy nd at mean position it will have max kinetic energy
