Yes, it is true that the hare looses in front of a tortoise. Due to overconfidence hare thought that he can easily win because he is very fast compared to the tortoise. And after a while he thought to take rest as tortoise was far away from him. So, while taking rest he slept and when he waked up he saw that the tortoise has already won the race.
