if we considered the life cycle of a frog, there are three stages. Eggs of frog develops into Larva (tadpole) and later become an adult frog. Metamorphism is a harmonal effect. Metamorphosis in frogs is controlled by the hormones called thyroxine, and it is produced by gland called thyroid.

Thyroid hormones (TH) is the most important hormone in frog metamorphosis, a developmental process which will not occur in absence of TH but can included precociously by exogenous TH.

In frogs and insects hormones plays an important role in metamorphosis. The hormone thyroxine is helpful in metamorphosis of frog i.e conversion of tadpole to frog. The ecdysone and Juvenile hormones (JH) helps in metamorphosis of insect i.e conversion of pupa to adult form.
