THE HARVEST FIELD
Gleam of the Sun on the golden grain
And scented clover,
And the yellow bird trills its plaintive notes
Over and over.
Sunlight fades into twilight soft,
All the ricks lie grey,
Lonely and cold, now unlit by the Sun
In the fading day.
