Therefore,

Another number = 60 - x

Now,

We know,

Product Of Two Numbers = H.C.F X L.C.M.

==> (x) X (60 - x) = 12 X 72

==> 60x - x² = 864

==> x² - 60x + 864 = 0

==> x² - 24x - 36x + 864 = 0

==> x(x - 24) - 36(x - 24) = 0

==> (x - 24)(x - 36) = 0

==> x = 24 OR x = 36
