It is given that one of the numbers is 48.
Also,
LCM = 14
HCF = 12
Let the other number be Y

We already know that,
LCM (A,B) x HCF (A,B) = A x B
14 x 12 = 48 x Y
Y = 168/48
Y = 3.5

here hcf is 12 and lcm 14
let one no be a and other b
a=48
lcm
lcm = a \times b \div hcf
14=48b÷12
48b=14×12
b=14×12÷48
=7÷2
