HCF × LCM = product of HCF × product of LCM
6×36=12×a
216=12a
a=216÷12
a=18

Dersana: There is a correction in ur answer.Product of lcm and hcf is equal to the product of no.s 'a' and 'b'

Let the other number be x

Factors of 12 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12

Now, the only other number whose factor is 6 and is lesser than 12, would be 6 itself. However, their LCM would be 12 only... not 36.

Now, taking a number greater than 12, with Factor 6, however not a multiple of 12, we get 18.

Also, 18*2 = 36 and 12*3 = 36.

Hence the other number is 18.

Hope it helps!
