Answer:

As HCF is 8. so both the numbers are multiples of 8.

The number which is between 20 and 30 must be 8*3 = 24

The number which is between 40 and 60 must be either 8*5 = 40, or 8*7 = 56 .

So the two number must be either (24, 40) or (24, 56)

The two numbers are either (24, 40) or (24, 56).

Given,

The HCF of the two numbers is 8.

one of the numbers is between 20 and 30.

another number is between 40 and 60.

To Find,

Two numbers.

Solution,

So,

The HCF is 8.

both the numbers must be multiples of 8.

The number which is between 20 and 30 must be multiple 0f 8.

24 is the only number that is multiple of 8 between 20 and 30.

So,

The first number is 8×3=24.

The number which is between 40 and 60 must be also a multiple of 8.

40,48 and 56 are three numbers lying between 40 and 60.

we can not take 48 because it will make the HCF of both numbers 24.

8×3=24

8×3×2=48.

So, 40 and 56 are two numbers that lie between 40 and 60.

The two numbers are either (24, 40) or (24, 56).
