Step-by-step explanation:

Given

HCF=x+1

LCM=6x-1

One of the numbers is 3x+1

Let the other number be y

we know LCM×HCF=product of two numbers

(6x-1)(x+1) = (3x+1)(y)

6x^2+6x-x-1 = (3x+1)(y)

6x^2+5x-1 = (3x+1)(y)

y = 6x^2+5x-1÷3x+1
