Explanation:

  • Princess Amritprabha choses king Meghavshana as her husband. In the ceremony, a heavenly parasol from Lord Varuna casts its shadow on Kind Meghavshana. It is predicted that King Meghavshana would be a great man.
  • Upon their marriage, Meghavshana becomes the king of Kashmir and passes a law prohibiting killing of any living being.
  • On hearing the cries of a man asking yo save him, Meghavshana reaches the spot to see a barbarian about to kill a poor man. To save the man, he offers his own life to be sacrificed. God Varuna praised Meghavshana for his nobility of mind and compassion.
  • Meghavshana is  able to capture Lanka but on returning home he finds the parasol missing. At the end he tells his wife that the blessings of the parasol are forever with him.
