Given : The height (in cm) of students in a group

To Find :  Median Height

Solution:

Arranging data in ascending order

Height     f              cf

152          18            18

153           10           28

154           21          49

156          23           72

158          12         84

159          14     98

98/2 = 49

98 is even

Hence Median = mean of 49th and 50 th term

49th term = 154 cm

50th term = 156 cm

Median = ( 154 + 156)/2 = 155 cm

the median height (in cm) of the students  is 155 cm
