Answer:

CSA=753.6 cm^2

TSA=1205.76 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The height of a cone is 16 cm and its base radius is 12 cm .

To find : The curved surface area and the total surface area of the cone?

Solution :

The radius of cone is r= 12 cm

The height of the cone is h=16 cm

l is the slant height

Formula to find slant height is l^2=h^2+r^2

l^2=16^2+12^2

l^2=256+144

l=\sqrt{400}

l=20

Now, The curved surface area of the cone is CSA=\pi r l

Substitute, \pi =3.14 , r=12 cm, l=20 cm

CSA=(3.14)(12)(20)

CSA=753.6 cm^2

The total surface area of the cone is TSA=\pi r(r+l)

Substitute, \pi =3.14 , r=12 cm, l=20 cm

TSA=3.14\times 12(12+20)

TSA=3.14\times 12(32)

TSA=3.14\times 384

TSA=1205.76 cm^2
