Answer:

the height of a cone is 16cm and the diameter of its base is 24cm.Find it's total surface area and curved surface area

for figure, kindly find the attached diagram to view the figure of Cone.

area of curved surface of cone= (pi*r*l)

pi=3.142

h=16cm,

d=24 cm,

to find radius we know that,

r=d/2

r=24/2

r=12cm.

and we also know that

l^2=h^2+r^2

l^2=16^2+12^2

l^2=256+144

l^2=400

taking root on side and we will get

l=length=20 cm

area of curved surface of cone= (pi*r*l)

area of curved surface of cone=(3.142*12*20)

area of curved surface of cone=754.08 square cm.

total surface area of cone=pi*r(l+r)

total surface area of cone=3.142*12(20+12)

total surface area of cone=1206.528 square cm

Hello mate !!!!!!!

Here is ur answer......

Height = h = 16cm

Diameter = 24cm

Radius = r = 24/2 = 12cm

We needed slant height = l

So, l = √(h^2 + r^2)

l = √(16^2 + 12^2)

l = √(265 + 144)

l = √(400)

l = 20cm

Now total surface area = pi×r (l+r)

= 22/7 ×12 (20+12) = 22/7 ×12 ×32= 8448/7 = 1206.85 sq cm

Curved surface area = pi × r× l

= 22/7 × 12 × 20 = 5280/7 = 754.28 sq cm.

Therefore TSA = 1206.85 sq cm

And CSA = 754.28 sqcm

HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU....
