Answer:

We know that slant height =l=h2+r2

So reason is true,.

Now it is given that height =h=24 cm, diameter=14 cm

∴ radius =r=2d=214=7 cm

∴l=(24)2+72=25

Height = 24 cm

Slant height = 25 cm

We know, in a right circular cylinder,

l² = h² + r²

⇒ r = √(l² - h²) = √[(25)² - (24)²]

⇒ r = √[(25 + 24)(25 - 24)]

⇒ r = √49 = √7² = 7 cm.

Now, area of base = πr²

Or, area = 22/7 × 7 × 7 cm²

⇒ BA = 22 × 7 cm²

⇒ BA = 154 cm².

∴ The base area of the cone is 154 cm².
