The height of a cone is 30cm. A small cones is cut off at the top by a plane parallel to the base. if it's volume be 1÷27 of the volume of the given cone, at what height above the base, the section has been made?

As we know that they are parallel, if we see in 2D, the cones form similar triangles. This means that ratio of their radii= ratio of their heights. So, the smaller cones height will come out to be 10cm and so it is 20 cm above base.
