Let diameter of cylinder be x cm

Radius = x/2 cm

Height of cylinder (h) = 2 x cm

Area of base (a) =pi × (x/2)² cm² = 22/7 ×x²/4 cm²

Volume of cylinder (V) = a × h = 539 cm³

So, 22x²/28 × 2x =539

or, x³ = 539 ×7 /11 =49× 7

So, x = (7³)^⅓ =7 cm

So, diameter of base = 7 cm (ans).
