Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

Height of cylinder glass jar is 70cm

inner radius is 14cm

Glass is half full of milk.

To find

Area of glass jar is in contact with milk

Solution

As glass is 70cm and its half full of milk hence height of milk filling is 35cm

area \: of \: glass \: jar \: which \: is \: contact \: with \: milk = curved \: surface \: area \: upto \: 35cm + area \: of \: base \:

 = 2\pi \:  \times r \times h + \pi \times  {r}^{2}

 = \pi \times r(2h + r)

 = \pi \times 14 \times 35 + \pi \times  {14}^{2}

 = 2155.13 {cm}^{2}

hence area of glass jar which is contact with milk is 2155.13 sq cm.
