let base of parallelogram be x
thus, height =1/3x
area of parallelogram= base × height
108=(x) (x/3)
108=x²/3
108×3=x²
324=x²
x²=324
x=√324
x=18 cm
thus, base (x) =18 cm
altitude =x/3=18/3=6 cm
