Given that the angle of elevation of the sun rays with the ground = 45°

The length of the pole = 12 m

Let the length of shadow formed be x.

In the triangle ABC (in the diagram shown in the file )

=> tan (45°) = length of pole / length of shadow

=> 1 = 12 / x

=> x = 12 m

Length of the shadow = 12 m
