The height of a room is 3.5 m and it contains 70 m³ of air. Find the area of carpet required to cover its floor.
Help me some one please
Answers
Formula = 1 meter = 100 CM
length × breadth
3.5 × 70 m3 = 2450m3
2450m3 × 100cm = 245000m3
2450m3 × 245000 = 600,250 m3
Given data : The height of a room is 3.5 m and it contains 70 m³ of air.
To find : Find the area of carpet required to cover room's floor.
Solution : A/C to the question;
- Height of the room = 3.5 m
- Length of the room = ?
- Breadth of the room = ?
- Volume of the air = 70 m³
A/C to the question:
A room with air with a volume of 70 m³. Therefore the volume of the room is equal to the volume of air present in it.
Volume of the air = volume of the room = 70 m³
Let, shape of the room is cuboidal;
By formula of the volume of cuboid
➜ volume of the room = length * breadth * height
➜ 70 = length * breadth * 3.5
➜ length * breadth = 70/3.5
➜ length * breadth = 20 ----{1}
Now,
➜ Area of the floor = length * breadth ----{2}
from eq. {1} and {2}
➜ Area of the floor = 20 m²
Answer : Hence, the area of carpet required to cover its floor is 20 m².
{ More info : 1 m² = 10000 cm²
- 20 m² = 200000 cm²
Properties of cuboid :
- A cube has six faces and twelve edges of equal length.
- It has square-shaped faces.
- The angles of the cube in the plane are at a right angle.
- Each face of the cube meets four other faces.
- Each vertex of the cube meets three faces and three edges.
- The opposite edges of the cube are parallel to each other.
- Total Surface Area of Cuboid= 2(lb + bh +lh)}
