the height of a tower is 400m when the altitude of the sun is 30°, then the length of its shadow will be?​

Given :

  • AB = 400m = height of tower
  • ∠A = 30°
  • ∠B = right angled = 90°

To find : BC = Shadow of tower

Solution :

  • Tan A = oppodite to ∠A / adjcent to ∠A
  • Tan 30° = BC / 400
  • 1/√3 = BC / 400
  • 400/√3 = BC
  • BC = 400√3/3 m = 230.67 m = Shadow of Tower
