Answer:

h = 7m \\ one \: side = 8m \\ area \: of \: trapezium =  \frac{1}{2} (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) \times h \\ 154 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (8 + x) \times 7 \\  \frac{154 \times 2}{7}  = 8 + x \\ 22 \times 2 = 8 + x \\ 44 - 8 = x \\ x = 36

The measure of other base is 36 m

Explanation:

We know that , the area of trapezium is given by :-

A\dfrac{1}{2}(a+b)h            (1)

, where h= height of trapezium .

a and b are parallel bases of trapezium.

As per given , we have

The height of a trapezium : h=7m

One of its bases : a= 8m

The area of trapezium : A= 154m square.

Put these values in (1), we get

154=\dfrac{1}{2}(8+b)7

\Rightarrow\ 8+b=\dfrac{154\times2}{7}=44\\\\\Rightarrow\ b=44-8=36

Hence, the measure of other base is 36 m.
