Answer:

Height = 10m

base= 12m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the base of the triangle be x, height = x-2

1/2 * x*(x-2)= 60

=> x^2 -2x =120

=> x= 12

Answer:

base= 12

Height=10

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the base of triangle = x

Then the height of ∆ is = x-2

area of ∆=60m (given)

formula of area of∆= 1/2*b*h

60 = 1/2*x*x-2

Taking x-2 to RHS

60*2/1 = x(x-2)

120 = x^2 - 2x

Bringing RHS to LHS

-x^2 + 2x + 120= 0.............1

Taking minus sign common in equation 1

x^2 - 2x - 120 = 0

By factorisation method

x^2 - 12x +10x - 120 = 0

x(x-12) + 10(x-2) = 0

(x-12) + (x+10) = 0

now there are 2 values of x because every square number have two value

x= 12 x= -10

we eliminate x=-10 because length never be negative

so base= x= 12

so height= x-2 = 12-2=10

I hope this may help you ......
