Answer:

To find : Height and Base of Triangle

Given : area.. 9cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the base of triangle be xcm

Then, height of triangle will be (x-7) cm

Area of triangle= 1/2×b×h

=> 9 = 1÷2×x×(x-7)

=> 2×9 = -7x

=> 18 = -7x

=> -7x-18 = 0

=> -9x+2x-18=0

=> x(x-9) +2(x-9)

=> (x-9) (x+2)

x = 9, -2

The base of the triangle can never be negative

so, base of triangle is 9cm

and height = 9-7

height = 2cm
