Then, as altitude bisects the base

QS=SR=2x

In ΔPQS,

(2x)2+102=x2

⇒4x2+100=x2

⇒43x2=100

⇒x2=3400

Area of the equilateral Δ=43x2

=43×3400=3100cm2
