total height of three boys-

142+144+146cm

= 432cm

formula of avarage- (sum of all data)/(total number of data)

Then the avarage height is-

432/3cm

=144cm.

Concept :-

Here the concept of Mean of the Data has been used. We know that Mean of a data is the average of it . And mean of ungrouped data is the ratio of the sum of all the outcomes and total number of outcomes. Here we are given the outcomes and we can calculate the total number of outcomes. Using the formula, we can find the answer.

Let's do it !!

Formula Used :-

\;\boxed{\sf{\pink{Average\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{Sum\;of\;all\; observations}{Total\;number\;of\;observations}}}}}

______________________________________

Solution :-

Given,

» Total number of observations = 3

» First observation = 142 cm

» Second Observation = 144 cm

» Third Observation = 146 cm

By formula we know that,

\;\sf{\rightarrow\;\;Average\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{Sum\;of\;all\; observations}{Total\;number\;of\;observations}}}

Then for finding average height, we will get

\;\sf{\Longrightarrow\;\;Average\;Height\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{Sum\;of\;all\;Heights}{Total\;number\;of\;Heights}}}

Now by applying values, we get

\;\sf{\Longrightarrow\;\;Average\;Height\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{142\;+\;144\;+\;146}{3}}}

\;\sf{\Longrightarrow\;\;Average\;Height\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{142\;+\;144\;+\;146}{3}}}

\;\sf{\Longrightarrow\;\;Average\;Height\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{432}{3}}}

\;\bf{\Longrightarrow\;\;\red{Average\;Height\;=\;\bf{144\;\;cm}}}

This is the required answer.

\;\boxed{\underline{\tt{Average\;\:Height\;\:of\;\:boys\;=\;\bf{\purple{144\;\;cm}}}}}

Mode : Most occuring frequency or highest frequency.

Median : If number of outcomes (n) is odd,
