Given :

ABC a right angle triangle, having AB = 15 m (height of tower) and altitude of sun is 60°.

Means,

  • h = 15 m
  • Ø = 60°

Find : Length of the shadow.

Assume : Let BC = "x" m

Solution :

In \triangleABC

→ AB/BC = tan Ø

→ h/x = tan 60°

→ 15/x = \sqrt{3}

→ x/15 = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{3}}

→ x = \dfrac{15}{\sqrt{3}}

After rationalization, we get

→ x = \dfrac{15\sqrt{3}}{3}

→ x = 5\sqrt{3}

\bold{Length \: is \: 5 \sqrt{3}  \: m.}
