The heights of 6 randomly selected sailors are in inches: 63, 65, 68, 69, 71 and 72. Those of 10 randomly selected soldiers are 61, 62, 65, 66, 69, 69, 70, 71, 72 and 73. Discuss in the light of these data that soldiers are on the average taller than sailors. Assume that the heights are normally distributed.

The result is not significant at p < .05.

Since, the p-value is greater than alpha (p > .05), then we fail to reject the null hypothesis, and we say that the result is statistically non-significant.
