HEYA, BUDDY !!
→ The Mountainous roads are winding and gently sloping in order to reduce the effect of steepness which causes more downward gravitational pull to the vehicles on it. A steeper sloped road would slow the car down to a greater extent that an gently sloping one. So, we have in effect reduced the undesirable effect of gravity by doing so.
As We know , The laying of railway lines requires level ground and flat terrain. Hence, it is very difficult and costly to build railways in hilly areas. Therefore, roads are prefered over railways in such areas.
